Artur Aghabekyan built a waterpark for kids, they reproached him for that too

“Years ago I thought that one could take election bribe. Then I realized that there was a category of people, with whom one could not shake hands, make deals, because it spoils, corrupts one’s soul, soils and obliges. One had better not take, not make a deal with forces that he hates”, remarked Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) faction leader Vahan Hovhannisyan during a meeting with journalists today.

Speaking of conducting election process, the MP stated that the opposition should have 3-4 unbribable, smart and physically strong people aware of the laws in each electoral district. “Many parties state that they have 30-40 thousand, we have never seen them in electoral districts, we have always fought by ourselves”, said V. Hovhannisyan.

Answering a journalist’s question how he treated MPs’ having businesses, the ARF leader observed that they could not do business, but they could have property, “Artur Aghabekyan built a waterpark in Karabakh, instead of applauding that the man had built something for kids, they reproached him for that too, gave vent to their bile.” According to V. Hovhannisyan, one should forbid bringing property interest onto the political stage, which happens at every turn.

“The hope is that people will awake and that the opposition forces will be able to awake the people’s caution, the immune system in the last months. The instinct for self-defense doesn’t work in our country, only legs work, when the pressure becomes too much, people start to think of leaving the country. The mechanism that makes a man stay in the country, struggle and stay in the country, unfortunately, doesn’t work. But that mechanism doesn’t die – experienced political force must be able to awaken it”, concluded V. Hovhannisyan.
