Today, during a conversation with Aravot.am, Ruben Hakobyan, the vice-president of the Heritage Party board, answering our question whether it was possible that the opposition forces would unite around the idea of impeachment, said that it wasn’t possible till the parliamentary election, but he didn’t rule out that they would unite around that idea after the election, “In any case I don’t rule out that this issue will arise at a certain point. If Serzh Sargsyan carries the initiative (he means the statement on the transition to 100% proportional representation) through, by which he will prove that he is really for fair elections and will do everything as the current president to conduct a fair election in our country, I think he will be the most legitimate president during these past 20 years. Our country was damaged when they started to rig elections, from that moment on our country started to collapse, which continues today. It seems there is no resource left to rig the election. If Serzh Sargsyan shows to the people that he takes practical steps to conduct a free election, he will become the most legitimate president of this country.”
Journalists inquired during a press conference at “Pastark” (argument) club whether it was possible that their and the Armenian Revolutionary Federation’s (ARF) initiative would change its format and they would all start cooperating, for example, become an alliance? Mr. Hakobyan did not rule that out, “If we successfully carry this issue through, if this issue becomes a foundation for the opposition, for the whole political stage, the cooperation may continue. There is only one issue here, after this certain issue it is very probably.”
