Hovhannes Sahakyan, “Santa Claus could have worn the clothes of the Republican Party”

January 10,2012 15:01

Today Hovhannes Sahakyan, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) member said at “Hayatsk” (view) club that after the New Year festivals in Spitak they had attracted 40 new members to their ranks.

In response to the question of Aravot.am what he thought about the fact that during the New Year festivals in this holiday season there had been flags of the Republican Party woven everywhere, Santa Clauses had entered with their flags and the kids had been close to taking out the Republican booklets out of the bags given by Santa Claus, Mr. Sahakyan said, “They didn’t find, now did they? I think it is normal, because it is not banned by any law, it is sort of means of propaganda, if you see the posters of the Republican Party on this or that advertising panel, it can also be an advertisement, means of propaganda.”

In response to our question whether they advertised through Santa Claus, Mr. Sahakyan said, “Santa Claus could have worn the clothes of the Republican Party, I don’t see anything bad in that.” Mr. Sahakyan informed that there were political parties that had undertaken more active and aggressive propaganda, “The examples are known to everyone.”
