Armenian National Congress (ANC) representative Lyudmila Sargsyan is convinced that the establishment is not inclined to conduct fair elections, “If it had wanted that, it wouldn’t have started a propaganda campaign before time which is done through small contributions in the regions. After 4-year silence they start by giving a bottle of juice to people… I mean RLP.” In Mrs. Sargsyan’s words the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) and PAP have also started propaganda campaigns, “The PAP Minister of Healthcare who could have carried out healthcare projects for years and was not only capable, but was obliged to do that, starts to do that at the threshold of the election. Well, RPA, on the other hand, go from one community to another waving their flags.”

Karine Achemyan, an RPA MP, got surprised at first that even during the New Year events Santa Clauses had carried out a propaganda campaign with RPA flags in their hands and then added, “Our party is one of those exceptional parties that organizes various events not only in the pre-election period, but always and it is natural that the party logos must be visible.” In RPA MP’s words, the ultimate priority of at least RPA is not getting many votes, but guaranteeing fair elections, “It doesn’t matter whether the National Assembly election will be conducted through majority rule or proportional representation.”

The ANC representative opposed to the notion of Mrs. Achemyan that only opposition parties that lack resources in the regions criticize majority rule, by saying, “The Republican Party and the coalition are the ones concerned whether to run for the election united or separately. It is not a big problem for us. As for lacking resources, we can form the whole National Assembly and a much better one with the ANC team.”
