“The real theater is in crisis now, because people don’t need to go to the theater to see a show. The political stage, in particular, in this pre-election period is like a theater, where rather uncivilized and uninteresting directors and actors work”, said director Tigran Khzmalyan during a conversation with Aravot.am.
He said in regard to the March 1 events that he regretted that a crowd of 50-70.000 people was used and sacrificed for the show itself, “We saw how a sea of people has become a river, then a brook and a marsh. Serzh Sargsyan is the director of the political theater at the moment, but one must understand that we speak of a marionette theater, i.e. his hands, legs and other parts of his body are also tied with strings, which are pulled from different sides… However, I think that the play is over already, credits are shown. Soon we will see how the curtain goes down and a new life will start, which we deserve and not the life, the directors of the marionette theater have chosen in our stead.”
