The son-in-law working as a teacher for his mother-in-law is going to struggle for an office against his father-in-law

January 17,2012 16:12

In a set of villages of Shirak, Pemzashen, Nahapetavan, Getap, Vahramaberd, Basen, Garnarich and others, community elections are expected. These elections are unprecedented, because almost officials of all village administrations have confronted their bosses for show.

The new election code provides for more than one candidate for the community leader election – if there is no rival, the candidate is just not registered, therefore, the village headmen have found the way. They urge their workers, have them confront them for show and make them withdraw their candidacies in the middle of the election. Furthermore, according to our information, the village headmen also pay 100-150 thousand AMD necessary to announce a candidacy for those who are running against them.

The village of  Garnarich of the district of Amasia is the most interesting in this regard. Here non-partisan village headman Manvel Ghazaryan of  Akhalkalak origin struggles against his Republican Party of Armenia son-in-law Vanik Manukyan who works for the institution managed by his mother-in-law, namely the village school, as a teacher.
