Silva Hambardzumyan may join the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA)

January 17,2012 18:25

Today Aravot.am reminded Silva Hambardzumyan during a conversation with her that during a press conference at the end of December she had promised that if  Suren Khachatryan, the governor of Syunik, did not return 102 million AMD a few days after, she would hold a press conference and would announce her candidacy for majoritarian representation. In response to our question where was her press conference and the announcement about the majoritarian representation, she said, “Since I haven’t been in the city, I have just returned, I will hold a press conference next week. As I heard, they had amended the law and a party must announce my candidacy for majoritarian representation, I don’t know, I was told that yesterday.” In response to our question whether there was a party she liked, the ideas of which were close to hers, the businesswoman said, “It seems to me that I will be accepted to any party these days, they will accept me after such a fuss. To be frank, since I am not engaged in politics, I will be examining their ideas thoroughly within the next 2 weeks and I will decide which one to join.” We immediately inquired whether it was possible that she would join the Republican Party and it turned out that there was nothing impossible and in response to a question whether she thought that Suren Khachatryan, being a member of RPA, would allow her to become his fellow party member, Mrs. Hambardzumyan said, “I think he will not be able to oppose, let alone allow or not allow.”

Silva Hambardzumyan appealed the decision of the Special Investigation Service (SIS) and applied to the Attorney General. The businesswoman explained her move during an interview given to News.am, as follows, “He has become impudent, that is why we have made that move.” In response to our question whether she had just found out that he had become impudent and that is why she had appealed, Mrs. Hambardzumyan said that she had not used the word “impudent”, “I was just said that he had denied that he had anything to do with 102 million, as if he had nothing to do with the equipment, he had no business. Then why did he want to meet with me, why, huh? I don’t know him and I have never said hi to him. He met with me twice, why then?” We asked her to go into details what exactly they had talked about during those meetings and whether she had the record of the conversation or any other evidence. “He said about the equipment that he would give 100 million instead of 102 million and just because it was me. I have witnesses, my counselor was present and it was at the instruction of the investigator, the investigator told him to meet and settle the issue.” At the end of our conversation Mrs. Hambardzumyan assured that she believed that there was law in our country and if there was law, Suren Khachatryan would necessarily give her money back.
