Today, during a conversation with Aravot.am, Seyran Ohanyan, the Armenian Minister of Defense, denied Artur Sakunts’s claim that every case of death in the Armenian armed forces becomes a subject of serious debate in all OSCE member-states. The minister denied the human rights advocate’s another claim that OSCE puts forward serious issues for our establishment’s consideration.
Mr. Ohanyan also said that the information of the human rights advocate that cases causing death have increased in 2011 compared to 2010 did not correspond to the reality, “It is an obvious lie, because we have made a considerable progress compared to last year. Year 2011was the most successful year for Armenia and thanks to the efforts of the army command and all of us we have achieved that the cases, causing death, have decreased.”
