How will citizens outside Armenia vote?

An electronic voting will be organized for workers of diplomatic and consular missions, members of their families and citizens of the Republic of Armenia working abroad. This is provided for by the new Electoral Code of the Republic of Armenia and the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) of the Republic of Armenia established the procedure today.

This is the first time in Armenia. It is possible that such a voting may be organized inside Armenia in the future.

According to the procedure, the list of workers of diplomatic and consular missions of Armenia and members of their families who have the right to vote will be presented to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia 50 days before the election, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will check those and present to the CEC 41 days before the election and the CEC will made them public within two days and will present personal passwords of voters to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in closed envelopes that will be sent to the voters abroad.

CEC president Tigran Mukuchyan said that everything possible has been done to guarantee secrecy, transparency and security of the election.

Our citizens abroad must vote no earlier than 9 and no later than 5 days before the election in Armenia. So the results of their voting will be summarized along with the results of the general voting.
