During the National Assembly hearings on switching to proportional representation yesterday, Hovhannes Sahakyan, an RPA MP, monitored and saw that the number of RPA MPs was the highest and the opposition wing representatives left the hall after making their speeches. “The NGOs came, according to the ‘pay-per-minute’ psychology and after making elevated speeches quickly left. This is an answer to those questions – this was just a political PR action in the run-up to the election,” Mr. Sahakyan said at the Post Scriptum Club today. In response to that observation, Larisa Alaverdyan, the Heritage faction secretary, said, “Are making surgeries, presenting apartments, handing out glasses not a PR action? It is shameful, if one does good to someone else and cries from the housetops about it.”
Larisa Alaverdyan noted that 7 MPs had voted on behalf of others, adding that the God would forgive Republicans, since the Great Lent was approaching.
In response to a question of Aravot.am that there were multiple videos how one MP voted in another’s stead – e.g., Hermine Naghdalyan’s voting had been filmed by cameras – whom they wanted to deceive by that step, the opposition or citizens, because people clearly saw one thing, they registered another, Mr. Sahakyan said, “It is a really bad thing. I don’t want to justify or something here, nonetheless we should be above such things.”

Ms. Alaverdyan was offended by the discriminative attitude of Samvel Nikoyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly, “The National Assembly delegation has left for Artsakh today to participate in the conference dedicated to the 20th anniversary. The Speaker of the National Assembly has not invited and has not included any member of the Heritage Party in the delegation. It is not right.”
In response to the critique of Larisa Alaverdyan, Hovhannes Sahakyan said, “I am sorry, but you remind me of an old louse’s story. It was good that the Teghut story emerged and your folks went there, lay by logs and had their photo taken. I can’t remember an occasion, when there were multiple issues in Gugark, a road was destroyed and all of us went and stood by them, where were you? However, if 15 people from the same region came and stood in front of the Government House, Zaruhi Postanjyan would surely go and stand among them and lead the movement.” Larisa Alaverdyan said that she would remind of a louse’s story unless the louse was destroyed.
