While the police officers and the members of the We Are This Town’s Masters Initiative were trying to determine their and their interlocutors’ rights, prove the legality of their own actions, the representatives of the fast response group of the Armenian Human Rights Defender’s Office had arrived at the scene. After their interference, environmentalists and police officers reached an agreement – construction work will not be done in the Mashtots Park yet, till the organization carrying out that construction displays a poster, as the law provides for and the environmentalists get the answers to their applications from the city hall.
Regardless of this agreement, leader of the Armenian Green Party Armenak Dovlatyan said during a conversation with Aravot.am that in any case they were not going to allow the further construction of expanding the café and deforestation. While the car loaded with concrete to enter the construction area was going back, the youths participating in the action were waving the tricolor and singing the Armenian anthem.
