February 20,2012 11:09

Chief of police of theRepublic of Armenia Lieutenant General Vladimir Gasparyan participated in a meeting of the Republic of Armenia Police Veterans’ Council that took place on February 17. Many issues were discussed at the meeting. Our source told that besides issues on the agenda, the deputy chief of police Lieutenant General Hovhannes Hunanyan called on the veterans to vote for the RPA at the upcoming election, along with their relatives.

However, the veteran police officers are dissatisfied with the Republican leaders of Armenia. Formerly, if a retired police officer died, the veteran’s family would get a financial support in the amount of the veteran’s annual pension. That support has been eliminated.

There is no mention about the call of the deputy chief of police in information about the police veterans’ meeting on the official website of the police. It is mentioned, instead, “Referring to the social and daily issues of the veterans, Vladimir Gasparyan stated that the chiefs of the regional departments and divisions had been ordered to always be in contact with veterans, to always be aware of their needs and to take measures to solve all urgent issues. The chief of police gave an order on the spot to examine the issues of the families of the police veterans of the Great Patriotic War, the participants of the Artsakh War and the killed comrades-in-arms and to present a program of solving the main issues in the short-run.”

Chief of Police Vladimir Gasparyan proposed to convene a meeting of veterans in March, during which the work done would be summarized and the exact program of the future doings would be presented.
