There have been speculations recently that Hrant Margaryan had a meeting with Serzh Sargsyan. Journalists inquired what they had talked about. Mr. Margaryan responded that they had last met a week before in the Presidential Palace and they had talked about the elections, foreign policy, Karabakh issue, Armenian-Turkish relations. Journalists tried to find out whether they had talked about fair elections, Mr. Margaryan laughed, “No, we talked about rigging elections.” Mr. Margaryan assured that they met only to argue and dispute, “Meeting-negotiation is not that kind of meeting. At the end of the day, we negotiate with this government in terms of foreign policy. If the Karabakh or Sumgayit issues are raised, if there is a problem of putting our country under economic pressure, an issue of creating opportunities for our country, we work together.”
Hrant Margaryan told a secret to journalists, “Everybody meets; they just don’t have the courage to admit that they meet.” Journalists inquired why they didn’t have the courage, whether a meeting with Serzh Sargsyan was that shameful, he responded, “Because they are not honest with the people.”
Speaking of the party list and involving youth, Mr. Margaryan said that according to Hmayak Hovahnnisyan, the president of the Union of Political Scientists, he was a representative of the young generation, “If I am a representative of the young generation, the rest are younger than I.”
