Today the meeting of the Public Council of the Republic of Armenia on summarizing the activities of 2011 took place in the round hall of the National Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Armenia. During the meeting, Vazgen Manukyan, the chairman of the Public Council, represented the activities of the council in legal, economic, agricultural, environmental and other areas. Talking about multiple problems, Mr. Manukyan noted, “The Armenian society is far from being called a civil society.”
Journalists inquired what exact problems the Public Council had solved during 2011. Heads of the Public Council subcommittees couldn’t point out exact problems that had been solved. As a result of the Public Council work, it was mentioned that tariffs in the area of telecommunications had become twice less or they had won the struggle against foreign schools. However no exact results were pointed out concerning that issue.
Let us remind that the Public Council has put forward a report, where the proposals of the council and the results of its activities are presented.
