Since the early morning, www.aravot.am has been listening to complaints of those who have been coming from Gyumri to the capital that the management of the parking lot has paralyzed the transportation again. This time not only microbuses, but also taxi drivers don’t drive to Yerevan. According to complaints of frozen passengers, they have been told that the Bazmaberd section of the road is closed and therefore, they don’t send transport, concerned about the security of passengers.
www.aravot.am inquired from Khachatur Khndzrtsyan, the head of the transportation department at the Shirak regional administration, whether there was a closed road on the first day of spring. The latter said that the road section from Sarnaghbyur to Lanjik had become barely passable because of the snowstorm and that the visibility in Talin was also bad. In response to our question whether the visibility was that bad that the work had been paralyzed, the official said, “It is not our function. You had better ask the company providing the service.” We asked Khachatur Khndzrtsyan to remind at least one occasion when the work of Gyumri-Yerevan transport had been stopped during the past four months because of snowstorm. The regional administration official answered briefly, informing that it was not their function to operate that road.
Let us remind that Trans Akntart company operating the Gyumri-Yerevan transport is owned by National Assembly member, manager of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) regional office in Shirak Martun Grigoryan’s family and we have informed the establishment in many publications that on the days of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) rallies, the protesters travel to Yerevan not from the Gyumri parking lot, but from the doors of their offices by special Gazels. Therefore, in this case, only those citizens who have urgent business in the capital suffer.
