The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) MP Is Concerned Why People Believe What the Armenian National Congress Says and They Don’t Believe What They Say

March 05,2012 16:18

Hovhannes Sahakyan, an RPA member and an MP, compared the ANC with the Titanic, which had been luxurious, but had due to a bad captain, during his press conference at Hayatsk (view) Club today. He expressed skepticism, as opposed to all public opinion polls, that the ANC might appear in the parliament. Hovhannes Sahakyan assured that the chances of the ANC that had been there two years before had decreased twice now. According to the MP, he has reached that opinion, considering the speeches of the ANC leader, the decrease in social participation in the ANC rallies, the parties that have left the ANC and the controversies existing inside this institution.

The RPA faction MP also assured that the RPA “is not that naïve anymore to respond to the ANC provocations.” In response to a question of www.aravot.am when the RPA had been naïve, Mr. Sahakyan said, “I am saying that half in jest. We just have potential, organizational mechanisms, an action plan not to allow the ANC to besmirch the post-election processes. Formerly, when the rallies were at the active stage, the accents were different. Many artificial problems were put forward in regard to the fact that many people residing in regions could not participate in the ANC rallies due to closed roads. However, it is not so now.” In response to our observation that the roads had been closed “in the honor” of the latest ANC rally, the MP said, “I can assure you that no road was closed this time, I myself came. Why is it so that you all believe when the ANC says something and you don’t when we say?”
