“I think both the residents of Hrazdan and journalists following the election process were convinced that there had been no election fraud. A very simple, normal election was conducted that guaranteed our candidate’s victory. It is a result of imagination and if there was a secret they cannot reveal, it is a result of our intelligence,” Kovalenko Shahgeldyan, the governor of Kotayk, said, in response to a question of www.aravot.am what “new” method of election fraud they had discovered and employed that all the most influential figures of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) couldn’t jointly reveal it.
The governor responded to the accusation of registering 4000 additional people made by the ANC and Sasun Mikayelyan’s headquarters in the following manner, “It is imaginary. Actually I cannot even imagine whether such a thing could have been done or not. There was no need for that.”
