Khachatur Sukiasyan has not participated in the rallies of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) recently and this has given rise to various comments. There is information that during the latest rally when Levon Ter-Petrossian called Mr. Sukiasyan and asked to come, he said in response, “I have got screwed once and I am not going to repeat it,” meaning what problems he had faced when he had stood by the president’s side. Today, during a conversation with www.aravot.am, Mr. Sukiasyan said in this regard, “If I decide I am going to the rally today, I will go, if I decide, I am not going, I won’t go. Secondly, if I am in Armenia I will be at the rally. Why do you make use of it?” We tried to find out whether he meant that Levon Ter-Petrossian hadn’t taken offense at him, he hadn’t called him and said and he hadn’t gone, “No, neither I have taken offense at Levon Ter-Petrossian, nor he at me. I was with him yesterday, I met with him. When I come, I always meet with Levon Ter-Petrossian, no one has to call me. I am a specialist in economic policy; I often need to be in various countries. I established a very good group and we worked with them very well, I enjoyed it very much. If you knew what kind of systems I am talking about, you would enjoy that too. I didn’t manage to be here and come at that time. E.g., I wanted to be on March 1 this time, I didn’t manage. I left for 5 days, then I should have come, they said there was no ticket in that direction. I said, OK. I would have participated; I am a member of the ANC.”
As for “getting screwed,” Mr. Sukiasyan denied that, saying, “Everybody knows how everything spreads.”
