There is certain information that Arusik Mkrtchyan, aka DJ Vakcina, will become an MP through the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) list in the upcoming parliamentary election. www.aravot.am tried to find out from DJ Vakcina whether the information was accurate. “Those are just rumors, which were immediately spread and whole Armenia started to think that I was going to become an MP on a party list. Let me say why such news was spread – I always organize environmental, health-care and other actions with various NGOs, I always express my civic stance and I was the special guest at events of the RPA recently. I stated in different places that it was possible that I would become a member of the RPA. That is the reason why journalists spread such news,” said our interlocutor.
In response to our observation that the Prime Minister sponsored her, because he adored DJ Vakcina and loved the music she made, Arusik Mkrtchyan emphasized again, “It is a rumor. I got acquainted with the Prime Minister at the harvest festival. As for loving my music, he is not an exception, nor is he the only one who loves it. On that very day, during the event, the Prime Minister expressed a good opinion about me. I cannot surely say that the Prime Minister adores DJ Vakcina, it would be too much for me – he is a very serious man.” DJ Vakcina also added that she had gotten many offers of “making” her a party member, “I am kind of a person that has a certain number of young people standing by her side. They are not few and love the events I organize. I can influence their opinions and decisions, but I don’t take such steps. I don’t lead the army behind me to a certain party. For instance, if I had such aspirations, I would nominate myself, particularly given that fact that many people say that I will certainly be elected. However, I don’t do such a thing now; it is not the time for me to become an MP.”
