“Yes, the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) participates with a list that is appropriate for the RPA,” Artak Zakaryan, a member of the RPA and the National Assembly, said in response to a question of www.aravot.am whether a list, the 10th place of which was occupied by former mayor of Yerevan Gagik Beglaryan who was expelled from politics temporarily because of an incident that took place in December 2010 or the presence of General Manvel whose activities were known to everyone, was an appropriate list for the RPA.
Going into detail the politician mentioned, “As a massive force, we tried to represent and involve in a list comprised of 250 people all layers and groups of the society and each of these figures including me is irreplaceable to some extent in his place.”
In response to another question why the RPA had already started election campaign before the commence of the election campaign and a bus with the logo of the Republican Party on it wandered around the republic or why pre-election headquarters had been established in communities before time, RPA MP said, “The RPA hasn’t done anything before time. Everything is according to the schedule. Bus is not propaganda, it is just a means of transportation. It could be without the logo there is no denying. I can attach the coat of arms or the logo of the RPA to my car too, will it be propaganda?”

www.aravot.am also inquired from Mr. Zakaryan whether the coalition partnership between the RPA and the PAP might be disrupted after the May 6 election due to the present attitude of the PAP, since RPA and PAP had ended up nominating representatives against each other for majoritarian representation. The National Assembly member responded, “This is normal competition, where the society is offered an opportunity to elect the best. I think that cooperation is always desirable and preferable for everyone, including the PAP.”
