Vahagn Khachatryan, an Armenian National Congress (ANC) member and the former mayor of Yerevan, didn’t want to make an assessment on the lists of other parties for proportional representation, “Every party has its own principles, by which it draws up its list.” He said about the ANC list, “The ANC list will suffice me, I have no doubts that there will be worthy people, since Levon Ter-Petrossian is in charge of making the list.” In response to Aravot’s question whether members of the ANC had had any objections to the list, it seemed there had been offended people and those who had left, Mr. Khachatryan said, “It wasn’t possible that there was no objection among so many worthy people. The only option that will not cause objections was a list by rating, but it was not possible.”
According to Mr. Khachatryan, lists have been made based on a certain principle, they have considered being a prisoner of conscious, political activities, political experience etc. However, the most important principle was that they asked Levon Ter-Petrossian to make the list, “We have placed that burden on him.”
