“I Have Also Heard that They Hand out Money,” a Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) Candidate Says

In no. 16 electoral district, Tigran Stepanyan, a PAP MP, Murad Muradyan, the director of Almar LLC, from the RPA and Gevorg Gevorgyan, a member of the Pan-Armenian National Movement (PANM), will struggle for a majoritarian seat in the parliament. The pre-election struggle, even before its official start, develops unusually here. According to the information of www.aravot.am, the election bribing has already commenced and the prices, as they say, increase every day. In order to take care of the issue from the beginning, Murad Muradyan has ordered to hand out 8 thousand AMD. In response, PAP member Tigran Stepnyan has ordered to hand out 10 thousand AMD. The Republican who took it personally increased the price to 15 thousand. At that moment, the PAP member decided to end the bargaining once and for all, ordering, “Give what Murad gives plus 5 thousand.”

In response to a question of www.aravot.am whether our information was accurate, PAP candidate Tigran Stepanyan said, “Certainly, no, there is no such thing. It doesn’t correspond to the reality.” In response to a request to clarify, since speculations wouldn’t have stemmed from nowhere, our interlocutor said, “Well, they are people, they should say something” and added, “Frankly speaking, I have also heard that they hand out money, but it doesn’t correspond to the reality.”

Mr. Stepanyan also said that he knew where such rumors spread from. He promised to reveal the “source” of those rumors during a meeting in the short run.
