Today we have gotten a message from the initiative Young People Who Have Served in the Army about Hovhannes Ishkhanyan’s book The Day of Discharge, in which it is assessed as a “big disgrace and clownery.” It is also mentioned that “this story or this work is obsessed with anti-republicanism and anti-patriotism,” “all the words and all the characters of the book are rogues, they hate everything beautiful,” “regardless of the fact that the book reflects the main language used by a certain layer of the society, it is absolutely vulgar and superstitious, anti-Armenian and anti-didactic.” And so on and so forth.
Let us mention that we tried at the time to find out who the members of this initiative were, sent them a message with a request for an interview, but it has remained unanswered.
