Today, during a press conference of the Heritage Party and the Free Democrats Party members, in response to a question of one of the journalists that the RPA members stated that they would win by rules of the underworld, whether it was appropriate to say that they would not falsify the election, but would win at the expense of exaggerated voting lists, Alexander Arzumanyan, a member of the Free Democrats said, “It is not appropriate for our party to win by rules of the underworld. We are guided by more civilized categories. We will do everything we can for the election to be held with as little fraud as possible. We don’t say that it will be necessarily rigged; it doesn’t mean that we, you and the society should sit idly by and watch how they rig. We say that an establishment that has come to power through a rigged election will do everything to reproduce, to remain in power and it presupposes fraud already. And those oaths about rules of the underworld, it means nothing; it should be done by political will and legislative reforms.”
www.aravot.am inquired from RPA faction leader Galust Sahakyan in this regard whether the RPA was guided by rules of the underworld, since it had stated about winning according to them, Mr. Sahakyan said that one shouldn’t appropriate anything that an RPA member said to the RPA, “One can appropriate to the RPA only the statements of people who are entitled to make statements on behalf of the party. Perhaps one of our party members wanted to express his opinion, it is not a statement of the RPA, it is just a personal opinion.” As for the response of Alexander Arzumanyan that “we are not people of that category,” Galust Sahakyan said, “Such a new approach is forming in their party, I would rather not respond to that. If people speak in that tone, they have such a feeling, they had better think of eliminating that feeling among themselves.”
Let us mention that Alexander Arzumanyan also assured that they didn’t perceive anyone from the opposition camp as their rival, “We have one goal – the ruling coalition – against which we will struggle. Armenia is in this state because of the shameless, anti-national and inhumane policy of the coalition and if our opposition colleagues find a way to propose a new approach, we will jointly struggle against this lawless establishment with great pleasure.”
