www.aravot.am asked Vahagn Khachatryan, the former mayor of Yerevan and a representative of the Armenian National Congress (ANC) nominated in no. 8 electoral district as a candidate for MP through proportional representation, to comment on the notion that the interparty staff established between the four parties would watch just the Republican Party. Our interlocutor said, “Whom else should we watch? They are those who commit crimes, so, we should watch them.”
In response to our question whether future cooperation with the same parties was possible in the parliament, Mr. Khachatryan said, “I don’t rule out that the cooperation will continue in the future, if no party is the majority in the parliament, a new Cabinet is formed and it is possible that coalitions will be formed.”
Mr. Khachatryan said in regard to opinions that the ANC contradicts its own previous statements, “The life changes and people’s positions also change. Perhaps they also understand that cooperation with the Republican Party leads people to perdition.”
