The Rule of Law Party (RLP) Is Ready for Struggle

April 07,2012 12:38

Interview with RLP deputy chairman Heghine Bisharyan

* How will you start the election campaign and in your opinion, how will it proceed?

* On April 7, the RLP is going to hold its first pre-election rally in the Freedom Square, on the next day the commence of the election campaign will be officially announced, we will present to journalists and the public the pre-election program of the party, after which the pre-election campaign itself will commence – a series of regional meetings, according to the planned schedule. The Rule of Law Party is interested that the pre-election campaign is conducted, according to civilized rules of the game,

political forces participating in the election don’t besmirch each other, but there is a struggle of ideas and programs, everyone puts forward the work it has done and the vision, the program, with which it is participating in the election and as a result of which it will eventually get the society’s support. This is the only way to participate in the election and to conduct an election.

* Is the RLP ready for the campaign and what program novelties will it present to the society?

* Before the official start of the campaign, we have been doing huge organizational and preparatory work? The RLP is ready for the pre-election struggle both structurally and ideologically. We have always presented competitive programs to the public and we have always been consistent in terms of implementing, thanks to which a certain electorate always stands by us, believes and supports us. During this election, the Rule of Law Party will present a rather ambitious program again, which will include approaches to and solutions of numerous problems our society is facing and they will be necessarily realized in the form of laws. Traditionally, the RLP has paid much attention to social projects, therefore, our pre-election program will include many social problems that need urgent solutions. As I have already mentioned, on April 8, we will officially put forward our pre-election program for the society’s consideration and I am convinced that it will be supported by the society.

* What do you think of Davit Harutyunyan’s offer to form a joint interparty staff for public supervision over the upcoming parliamentary election?

* Frankly speaking, guaranteeing equal competition in elections, the lawfulness of preparing and holding elections has always been a priority for us. And the upcoming parliamentary election is not an exception. As always, a working group functions in the RLP pre-election headquarters again, which will examine mistakes in voting lists, will reveal those, will follow the pre-election campaign procedure, will uphold lawfulness during the election process and will struggle against possible election fraud. Holding a good election in the country is the ultimate goal for the Rule of Law Party and I think forming a joint staff is a positive thing, attaching importance to interparty communication and information exchange at the same time.

* Your speech made at the RLP women’s forum has been severely criticized in the press recently. In your opinion, what is the reason for that?

* You know, I have said on various occasions that winning points at the expense of backbiting, besmirching others, falsification and slander has become an integral part of our political stage. Some political forces, servile creatures declaring themselves politicians and news “killers” are guided by that. And the malicious comments on my speech at the RLP women’s forum should be assessed in that very context – they are made based on the logic of distorting ideas, taking sentences out of context and making cunning comments characteristic of the authors. And the series ends with scribblers’ uploading their imaginary writings, showing the inhuman images of their

and their generous sponsors, instead. Analyze the press publications of the recent months and it will be obvious for you from killer attacks on the RLP what a pointless aim our ill-wishers and order executors are pursuing.
