According to the latest public opinion poll conducted by Gallup, 3% of the respondents will vote for the Heritage Party. However, the Heritage Party representatives say in their interviews that they had expected to get 25% of the people’s votes before the election campaign, whereas now, seeing people’s mood, their expectations have risen. We applied to Hovsep Khurshudyan, the Heritage Party press secretary, to solve this puzzle.
Mr. Khurshudyan firstly noted that that poll had been conducted before the election campaign and they had noticed the dynamics during the election campaign. Then he drew the attention to the fact that according to the data of the same Gallup, 27% of respondents trust the Heritage Party. “How come that 27% trusts, but only 3% votes?” asks Hovsep Khurshudyan and answers himself that people are not free to directly express their opinion during public opinion polls, since they have some fears, they didn’t want to be in hazard, but the real picture is different.
According to the Heritage Party press secretary, Gallup put forward such and worse data 5 years ago too, “At the time, they ‘gave’ us 2%, however as a result of the election, we won
in Yerevan.” Now, according to Khurshudyan, the society will make a surprise on May 6 for all those who hope that those public opinion polls have anything to do with the reality.
