“Levon Ter-Petrossian Has Never Said That It Is Enough of PAP-ization (Prosperous Armenia Party)”

April 21,2012 15:32

“The Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) can do nothing without allies, they will be compelled to grab from here and there. They try to kill two birds with one stone,” during a conversation with www.aravot.am, Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, a member of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP), explained in this manner Serzh Sargsyan’s statement about endorsing the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) and the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) candidates in some electoral districts. In his words, “They don’t come from the RPA to us, because they know that it is meaningless. We see in districts what mechanisms they use, they have told people that they will film and they will see whose nephew, whose uncle’s brother-in-law is there and they will fire him, certainly, people are afraid, they try not to be seen during the ANC rallies, in order not to harm their relatives.”

In response to our question what had changed in the attitude of the ANC toward the PAP after the previous election that they didn’t urge to end “PAP-ization” anymore, Gurgen Yeghiazaryan denied that the ANC had ever had such a motto, “Frankly speaking, Levon Ter-Petrossian has never used such a phrase, there has been no such motto, perhaps someone has said. I don’t want to name my friend who has said that, but we cannot perceive everyone an enemy, now can we? We have one task today – to get rid of these authorities as soon as possible and the PAP has no authority.”
