Does the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) Gather Passport Data in Armavir?

April 24,2012 15:38

“I am a member of the RPA, I have the right to propagandize after six o’clock. However, as for gathering passports or their copies or their numbers, I haven’t done such a thing,” Gayane Sayadyan, the head of the education department of the regional administration of Armavir, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am. Let us note that www.aravot.am has gotten alerts from different schools of the region that the passport data of teachers, the copies of their passports have been gathered 3-4 times already and the head of the educational department of the regional administration canvasses for the RPA in schools.

We inquired whether there had been people after 6 p.m., in order that Ms. Sayadyan may canvass at that time. Our interlocutor responded, “I canvass in communities and yards – there is a place in the school yard and in the yard of the village administration, but not in the school.”

As for the passport data, Ms. Sayadyan added, “I am not a new Republican. What should I gather those passport data for? Let’s say I have taken your passport data, but you go to the voting booth… isn’t it better, if I talk to you, communicate and understand you? What should I take the passport number for? Those naïve novices are who bring, they perhaps want to prove that look how many passports we have taken. I don’t know what they want to do. But I don’t need it, I know what is allowed and what is not.”
