On April 25, during Serzh Sargsyan’s pre-election meeting in the town of Noyemberyan, one of the president’s bodyguards pushed Vova Yerknapeshyan, a disabled freedom fighter from Koghb. The latter told Aravot’s reporter that he had epilepsy, he could die at every moment, he asked for help with his health from the president. A freedom fighter from Noyemberyan engaged in an argument with Serzh Sargsyan’s secret service officer, because the bodyguard ordered him “to get away.” The freedom fighter said that they had protected that land, the border and no one had the right to tell him to get away from there. After his speech, the president of the country listened patiently to people with health and other problems who managed to appear in Serzh Sargsyan’s way. The number of the president’s bodyguards has increased during the years of independence. During meetings with the people, Levon Ter-Petrossian’s bodyguards were almost unnoticeable, during Robert Kocharyan’s rule, their number increased, however, they weren’t so striking. There are many people in Serzh Sargsyan’s guard and when the president is filmed, his bodyguards always appear on the screen. The number of the latter, their behavior toward the people and the president’s long convoy arouse the discontent of the residents of Tavush.
