“We Say What We See,” Harutyun Hambardzumyan Says (Video)

“I don’t share the opposition’s opinion that there is terror everywhere. The same Levon Ter-Petrossian said in Syunik that he hadn’t seen such a crowded meeting with voters during any election campaign before. Whereas it was less probable that people would come to the meeting in Syunik, but there was a very civilized attitude in other regions too. And if people, overcoming different obstacles, come to Freedom Square by taxi or on foot for rallies etc., what prevented them from going to meetings in regions? I don’t accept those claims about fear,” Harutyun Hambardzumyan, the head of The Choice Is Yours organization, stated today. He also added, “What has happened since April 8 up to now cannot be compared with what happened during the previous election campaigns, when there was a very rude attitude, the government neither provided premises, nor microphones for the opposition, there were fights. Today one should clearly say that excluding rare worrying incidents, this election campaign was held

normally at the republican scale and if there is the same situation on the election day, we will really say that we have made a step forward.”

In response to a question of Aravot whether he wasn’t afraid that after that report, where he made mainly positive assessments of the pre-election process, the opposition would label his company as “sold out,” Mr. Hambardzumyan said, “We say what we see. Let them check out our website, our previous reports and see that we sullied the government, the opposition should have applauded us at that time, although I don’t want applause or anything else, we say exactly what we see. The government has committed a violation, it has been engaged in charity during the campaign, we say that the opposition organized rallies and there were few people, we say you think of it.”
