Vardan Bostanjyan, a Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) MP, surprised everyone with his speech and propaganda for the ARF during the presentation of the ARF pre-election program. This was surprising particularly given the fact that Bostanjyan was still a PAP member. www.aravot.am asked Vahan Hovhannisyan, the ARF parliamentary group leader, whether there wasn’t anything strange that Mr. Bostanjyan had made a statement, said warm words about the ARF that day. He assured that no, “There is nothing strange, because I can name other people who had expressed a positive opinion on our program. For example, Aharon Adibekyan. So, if a man is a serious economist or is a good specialist and has an opportunity to analyze a certain document, such as a program, and he makes a positive conclusion afterwards, he assesses it positively, there is nothing strange.” In response to our observation that after the well-known
incidents with the PAP, after being taken off the list for proportional representation, it was perceived differently, Mr. Hovhannisyan assured, “You perceived that way and others no.”
Let us remind that after not being included in the list, Vardan Bostanjyan stood up during the ARF event and made the following statement, “I, knowing ARF members since 1990s, have seen integrity, sublimity, limitless responsibility in all issues. Given all this, how may one not wish that they led our nation’s successes? The ARF is an outstanding political force, in which there has been no split, no constraint, once again it shows its sublimity, which underlies its program and its approaches.”
