Mashtots Park Activists Don’t Leave the Territory

May 02,2012 16:44

Today a group of activists gathered in Mashtots Park again. They shared their impressions with each other about Serzh Sargsyan’s surprising visit to the park yesterday. Although environmentalists talked to each other in a good mood, being proud of their success, dozens of police officers overlooked them. www.aravot.am inquired from environmentalists what they had gathered today for, when they had already achieved that the “boutiques” would be taken out of the park.

“Our demand was not only to dismantle the pavilions, our demand was that we had a rule of law and I would like this, according to the law and not that it is beautiful or not. This is just a social platform and the society should learn that a public park belongs to the public, we will continue watching movies and organizing exhibitions here, this is a cultural platform, we will help landscape the park,” said activist Yeghia Nersisyan.

In the park, not so far from the people gathered, ground was being paved with slabs.
