Aravot inquired from Arshak Banuchyan, a representative of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), who is also nominated in no. 11 electoral district for majoritarian representation, whether he had enough proxies who would carefully watch the election process in the polling stations, not allowing violations and fraud. Let us remind that during a press conference yesterday, Harutyun Hambardzumyan, the head of The Choice Is Yours NGO, expressed an idea that with the possibilities provided by the current Electoral Code it was almost impossible to commit fraud, even to mess with voting lists.
Mr. Banuchyan assured that they had even two proxies in every polling station – one from the Armenian National Congress and one from himself as a candidate for majoritarian representation – who had in their hands the mistakes or doubtful data revealed in the voting lists and who would carefully watch the whole process, but according to Mr. Banuchyan, violations will hardly be committed in polling stations themselves on the very election day, “What will happen is done outside. They started to hand out money yesterday, the day before yesterday, it is the main thing.”
