Yesterday evening, Hayk Grigoryan, a representative of the Heritage Party and the head of the electoral commission at no. 9/19 polling station of no. 9 electoral district in the community of Kentron, Yerevan, was assaulted. www.aravot.am was told about this by Hovsep Khurshudyan, the press secretary of the party campaign headquarters. According to him, the campaign headquarters have reported on the incident to the police.

In Khurshudyan’s words, some people followed Hayk Grigoryan by cars, approached and offered him to get in the car to have a talk and they made an offer of “cooperation” already inside the car, explaining that some people might be engaged in some activities during the election – if the head of the commission turned the blind eye to that, it “will be good” for him afterwards.

In response to Hayk Grigoryan’s question on whose behalf those people were speaking and who they represented, the strangers said that they were the RPA people. The representative of the Heritage Party flatly denied the offer, in response to which they assaulted him inside the very car and beat him up. According to our information, Hayk Grigoryan was given a forensic doctor’s referral at the police station. www.aravot.am applied to the public relations and press department of the police of the Republic of Armenia in regard to the incident asking for explanations.
