“It is a bit strange and those numbers don’t instill particular confidence and trust. In particular, 1 380 000 people participated in the 2007 election and if we consider the emigration rate, the number made public by the Central Electoral Commission (ECC) doesn’t seem trustworthy,” Naira Zohrabyan who is responsible for the propaganda of the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) headquarters, said, commenting on the latest official data made public by the CEC, at the request of www.aravot.am.
Nonetheless, the PAP doesn’t rush to make statements and mention possibilities of future steps. They prefer to wait for the end of the election and its results, which will give a broader picture.
Naira Zohrabyan stated once again that the election had commenced with a striking violation, oxidizing seals. Although CEC chairman Tigran Mukuchyan stated that that problem had been solved within an hour, Naira Zohrabyan claimed that at 2 p.m., the OSCE observers also witnessed in the region of Ararat that the election was held with oxidizing seals.
“Two weeks ago, I proposed to have those seals examined in Nikoyan’s working group, since there was material in the press that they oxidize after 3-4 hours. However, they proved to oxidize within 3-4 minutes. At that time, Mukuchyan made a public statement and assessed the news in the press and my information as nonsense. Now I refer to Mukuchyan with a counter question, whose claim was nonsense?” said Ms. Zohrabyan.

We quote the official statement of the National Assembly, “The issue of oxidizing seals was also under consideration. Concerns were expressed that they oxidized not after 12, but 3-4 hours, which ostensibly made it possible for the voter to participate in the voting several times. The people present asserted that concerns were groundless, since in that case, thousands of voters could witness premature oxidization.”
