May 07,2012 13:01

According to the information gotten from 1982 polling stations, the United Armenians Party Won 0.2% of votes, the Democratic Party of Armenia (DPA) won 0.37% of votes, the Armenian Communist Party (ACP) won 1.06% of votes. www.aravot.am asked the mentioned political forces to comment on the May 6 parliamentary election. Ruben Tovmasyan, the Communist Party leader, said during a conversation with us, “Since the results of the election are not final, we cannot make clear assessments.” Let us

mention that the Communist Party registered a series of violations during the election – for example, open ballot in the district of Ani, in the village of  Lernarot, the region of Aragatsotn, etc.

Aram Sargsyan, the leader of the Democratic Party of Armenia said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, “I congratulate all forces that won seats as a result of the election.” We asked what the assessment of the Democratic Party was in regard to the level of objectivity. A. Sargsyan responded, “Let them think of that among themselves.” www.aravot.am inquired whether 0.37 percent of votes registered were the objective picture of the votes of the Democratic Party. Mr. Sargsyan preferred not to make assessments.

The United Armenians Party thinks that people were bribed before the election. Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the deputy chairman of the party, said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, “The election process was organized objectively, but the government used the administrative resources, election bribery and other mechanisms of putting people under pressure.” We inquired whether 0.2 percent of votes were the real picture of the party’s votes. He responded, “Certainly, it is not the real picture. We didn’t definitely say that we would win 5% of votes, but we didn’t think that they would be less than one percent either. Our participation in the election was informative, in order that people might see that only the third force could make changes in the country.”
