Observers Caught a Woman Red-handed

May 08,2012 17:48

Helsinki Citizens’ Assembly Vanadzor Office reported in the framework of its monitoring mission during the National Assembly election on May 6 that oxidization of seals was used for double voting.

Artur Sakunts, the manager of the office, said during a conversation with us that they had personally caught a woman “red-handed,” “We reported on that woman recognizing her, she came, because the ink of the seal vanished early. The seal aimed at ruling out double voting, didn’t it? But we registered double voting because of oxidization of seals.”

Let us remind that Galust Sahakyan, the deputy chairman of the RPA said today that if there had been at least one case, when they had gone for double voting because of the seal’s vanishing, the observers would have reported that. Mr. Sakunts said in this regard, “There are commissions that reported in the registration books, for example, an observer of the organization applied to the chairman to make a statement, the chairman responded that voters had been sisters and had mixed up the passports.”

Artur Sakunts is under the impression that political games deprived the voter of a possibility to make a real choice.
