Human rights advocate Vardges Gaspari, a member of the Armenian National Congress (ANC), is not excited about the cooperation between the ANC and the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), because, for him, the PAP is a political force that participated in the events of March 1, “Which got 300 police uniforms on March 1, according to the lists made public by the fact-finding group.”
Mr. Gaspari didn’t wish to expand on the issue how much the ANC had weakened its positions and how predictable it had become for the government, he just said, “Even if there are drawbacks, I don’t think they are very important, everyone should struggle for his ideas also beyond the limits of his party.”
Mr. Gaspari understands the decision of some political forces not to appeal the results of the election to the Constitutional Court, because opposition supporters have become fewer, in his opinion, “The majority of the society is involved in criminal
relations. I don’t deny that our supporters, the supporters of the ANC, have left the country since 2008, even former prisoners of conscience have left, now they are also abroad and say, “Fight, fight to the finish.” I think that they support this struggle, but I am afraid that supporting this struggle will reach a point, when there are only 100.000 people left in Armenia and we will still say, ‘Fight, fight to the finish.’”
