The Loss of 50-60 Votes in a Village With 90 Voters

May 11,2012 22:44

In the distant village of  Sarapat, Ashotsk, which has only 90 voters, the candidates have lost 50-60 votes because of the illiteracy or perhaps, confusion of the head of the precinct election commission. According to our sources, the head of the commission made a mistake and sealed the envelopes not by the three-digit seal of the Central Election Commission, but by his own seal. Thus, the envelopes of 50-60 voters were perceived as not corresponding to the pattern provided for.

This information of ours was confirmed also by Grigor Hovhannisyan, the head of no. 33 territorial election commission, adding that an alert was called and the mistake was fixed during the process. Let us mention that Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) member Ashot Aghababyan, Rule of Law Party (RLP) member Hovhannes Margaryan and Pan-Armenian National Movement (PANM) member Shaliko Zoryan competed in this electoral district through majoritarian representation.
