Today Gurgen Yeghiazaryan, a member of the Social Democrat Hunchakian Party (SDHP), presented the election as a total disease, a disgrace and an awful thing. During a conversation with www.aravot.am, in response to a question why the ANC had gotten into that “disease,” why it had assumed the offices and had entered the parliament, he said, “Answer the following question – there have been 2-3 resolutions in Europe, why haven’t they opened A1+? We have a task
to be represented in the National Assembly even by 7 people and to use that floor, because people don’t have money to buy a 100-AMD newspaper. People don’t have money; at least our friends can use that floor, in order to make the truth heard.”
Aram Karapetyan, the New Times Party (NTP) leader expressed a conviction yesterday that those 7 seats would not be able to change anything, anyway. In Gurgen Yeghiazaryan’s words, “I, on the other hand, am convinced that many things will change.”
Hovhannes Hovhannisyan, the leader of the Liberal Party of Armenia, will discuss the issue of leaving the ANC today. Gurgen Yeghiazaryan said “bon voyage” to him, “I am sorry that Hovhannes Hovhannisyan who is one of my friends may leave the ANC. I can only regret.”

In response to our question why so many people left the ANC, in his opinion, what had disappointed them, he said, “I cannot say that they are disappointed. It is natural – we face a powerful, the most powerful state machine. It is not easy to be an opposition.” We requested clarification whether those who left the ANC worked for the state machine, he responded, “The state machine, naturally, crushes many things. It may tire, it may terrorize, it may show other ways.”
