“I am not a linguist, I can interpret a word within certain limits. The Medieval interpreters interpreted the Bible, I am far from thinking that they were as
valuable as the Bible and I am compelled to play the role of an interpreter,” Mikayel Hayrapetyan, the leader of the Conservative Party of Armenia, which is a member of the ANC, responded, when www.aravot.am asked him to comment on two parties’ leaving the ANC.
In response to our question whether there were serious controversies inside the ANC on the solution of foreign and domestic policy issues, as the Republic Party had mentioned in its statement, whether they had felt such a thing, since they were also a member of the ANC, Mr. Hayrapetyan said, “A year and a half ago, we explicitly stated that we had the status of an observer. We don’t know what has happened there for the past 1.5-2 years, who has had controversies, who hasn’t. We don’t care much what goes on inside the ANC, we play our role of an observer.” In response to our question whether they were satisfied with their status, because that very status hadn’t sufficed the Liberal Party of Armenia Mikayel Hayrapetyan said, “I don’t know what didn’t suffice whom, yes, our status suffices us.”
We inquired whether he wasn’t concerned that the ANC cooperated with the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP), the leader of the Conservative Party responded, “It can cooperate with whomever it wants, it cooperated with the Republican Party once.” We inquired whether he meant the dialogue, he responded, “Yes. I will not be surprised, if tomorrow it initiates a dialogue with, let’s say, the Rule of Law Party.”

In response to our question whether they didn’t care whether the ANC would assume the offices or not, he said, “Certainly, undoubtedly, we don’t care. We don’t have a narcissistic approach. Quality is quality – there either is or is not.”
