“I Will Be an Independent MP,” Arayik Grigoryan Says

May 21,2012 16:51

* Mr. Grigoryan, you won 32 thousand votes in no. 18 electoral district, more than any other candidate for majoritarian representation. You were nominated by the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF), but the President of the Republic of Armenia stated that the Republican Party also endorsed you. What attitude will you take in the National Assembly?

* I am non-partisan and I will be an independent MP in the parliament. I will not join any parliamentary group. I am grateful to both the ARF that nominated me and the President of the Republic of Armenia who supported me. I am particularly grateful to people who voted for me. There was a real competition in the electoral district, which made our team work in a more organized manner and we won thrice more votes than the candidate who took the second place. Certainly, such trust of the people is demanding. I will mainly cooperate with the Republican Party parliamentary group in the parliament. I am convinced that there will be issues, when my approach will be identical to that of the ARF. Many members of that party are my friends and we have traveled a long road together.
