www.aravot.am inquired during a conversation with Ashot Grigoryan, the chairman of the Forum of Armenian Associations of Europe, whether Armenia’s passiveness in the foreign policy and sometimes even timidity was not caused by the internal political confusion. Mr. Grigoryan responded, “It is natural that our

internal political situation, which is fraught with serious consequences and ambiguity, has completely absorbed all forces. The Diaspora is also passive for months; everyone waits to see what will happen in Armenia. However, there is no guarantee that once it happens, everything will become active. No one understands anything today, everyone is confused. The saddest thing is that no one knows the right solutions.”

In response to our question whether this meant that the political establishment of the Republic of Armenia preferred momentary political interests to the external political issues of the Republic of Armenia, A. Grigoryan said, “In our country, the political games have always been attached more importance to than external political issues, since how long the given person will hold his office is conditional on political games.”

Mr. Grigoryan is indignant, “We lose day after day. For example, the Slovakian Ambassador stated that there was no law on banning the denial of the Armenian Genocide and the Minister of Justice of the Republic of Armenia hasn’t even sent a request to find out whether there is such a law or not, since the Minister of Justice thinks whether he will remain in office tomorrow or not. The Minister of Foreign Affairs visits every country of the world as a tourist, is received at the level, which he may not have tomorrow, if he isn’t the Minister of Foreign Affairs anymore.” www.aravot.am inquired what the way out was in that case. A. Grigoryan responded, “I knew the way out before the election, whereas now I don’t.”
