The German Doctor Came for Two Days, but Stayed for a Week

11 citizens injured as a result of the balloon blast that took place in Republic Square on May 4 are still in hospitals of the capital at the moment. None of them is in the resuscitation unit. The Ministry of Healthcare told www.aravot.am about this.

German doctor Adrian Daigler who came to Armenia for 2 days to operate on the citizens that had suffered serious burn injuries was compelled to stay in our country for more than a week. The ministry also informed that the German doctor didn’t take money for his surgeries.

He operated on 9 people; the surgeries of the other citizens were done by Armenian specialists.

A lot of medical creams have been used to treat the burned citizens in the past few days, after the reserves of hospitals was over, necessary amount of medication was collected from pharmacies and pharmaceutical institutions and given to the hospitals at the behest of Harutyun Kushkyan, the Minister of Healthcare.

As for how much money the state spent on the treatment of the citizens (the treatment was at the government order), the ministry said that there were no calculations yet, since the hospitals hadn’t made reports on their expenses to the state healthcare office yet.

Let us remind that 154 citizens were injured because of the balloon blast; 90 of them were hospitalized.
