www.aravot.am inquired during a conversation with Konstantin Zatulin, the director of the Institute of CIS Countries, how he would assess the notion spread in the Republic of Armenia that Vladimir Putin, the current President of the Russian Federation, would not pay much attention to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement as Medvedev hadn’t. K. Zatulin responded, “I don’t want to criticize Medvedev, but his presidency was an important period for the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. Therefore, the activity was conditional on that very factor. On the other hand, I am personally not for Vladimir Putin to have a meeting every month on the Karabakh issue, since some time after you will ask where the results are, particularly given the fact that the results are still unreachable. However, it doesn’t mean that Putin and his advisers will put aside the issue of the Karabakh conflict settlement. President Putin will surely take steps in this direction.”
K. Zatulin also added, “It will not be in our interest at all, if the military operations between Azerbaijan and Armenia resume.”
