Will There Be a New Cabinet After June 10?

June 01,2012 15:37

The meetings of the executive body and the council of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), during which the issue of portfolios of the new Cabinet will be clarified, will most probably take place on June 10. According to the information we have, the president doesn’t rush to make clarifications concerning the new Cabinet. Let us note that after the newly elected parliament’s first meeting, there is 50 days’ period to form a new Cabinet, but it will not be protracted for so long.

After the Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) refused to join the coalition, all the Cabinet portfolios will be taken by the RPA. The RPA press secretary confirmed yesterday that the Rule of Law Party (RLP) would keep its three portfolios. The RLP haven’t aspired to increase the number of them and the RPA hasn’t offered the RLP that. However, the RPA and the RLP will “exchange” ministerial portfolios. According to the information of www.aravot.am, the RPA will take the Ministry of Transport and Communication from the RLP, instead, the RLP will be given the Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs or the Ministry of Urban Development left by the PAP. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and the Ministry of Agriculture will be left to the RLP.
