Larisa Alaverdyan, a Heritage party member of the 4th convocation of the National Assembly, didn’t participate in the party convention that took place on Saturday, as she said during a conversation with www.aravot.am, only because of being busy, there were exams. Let us remind that in the pre-election period, when the Heritage Party list for proportional representation was being drawn up, when representatives of the Free Democrats Party and other individuals were ranked at the top of the list, some disagreements arose. Ms. Alaverdyan appeared in the 41st place. As she explained it at the time, it was because she had disagreements both on the priorities of the party activities in the future and on the principles of drawing up the list, nonetheless, she wanted to continue the work the Heritage party had initiated and done.
However, Larisa Alaverdyan carefully examined the speeches made during the Heritage Party convention. In response to a question of www.aravot.am what conclusions she had made, she said, “I haven’t met with my former colleagues, members of the parliament, if I manage to meet with them today, I will form a more detailed opinion. However, I generally think that the Heritage Party still wishes to recover, to take some new path. I welcome it. I don’t know whether it will be a success or not, but the fact that my colleagues have been elected members of the executive committee, I hope that there will be the Heritage Party I know. The Heritage Party I know is the party of 2007.”
Let us remind that Larisa Alaverdyan hasn’t been a member of the party, therefore, she has never been in the party executive committee either, merely from the perspective of articles of association. She has only participated in the enlarged meetings of the executive committee. As for how she would continue her cooperation with the Heritage Party, she said, “Wherever I am required. I just have to have time. Now, I am very busy in this educational institution, but I will not cause any problems, I will participate, if I can.” Let us remind that Ms. Alaverdyan chairs the newly-opened department of human rights in the Slavonic University now.
