www.aravot.am inquired of Mensur Akgün, the director of the Global Political Trends Center and an ethnic Turk who came to Armenia the other day and has been participating in a round table discussion concerning the Armenian-Turkish relations, what he thought of another violation of the ceasefire regime on the contact line by the Azerbaijani side in the North-Eastern part of the Armenian-Azerbaijani border on June 4, where the enemy had intruded into the Armenian footholds in the direction of villages of Berdavan and Chinari, the region of Tavush, the Republic of Armenia, as a result of which 3 Armenians had been killed and 6 had been wounded.
Mensur Akgün avoiding the question, merely responded, “In regard to the Armenian-Turkish relations, I am positive and optimistic. Besides, our coming and going puts the politics under considerable pressure. And if the Armenian side takes a small step toward developing its relations with Azerbaijan, our work in Turkey will become much easier. This is a problem to be solved between the sides and only then will we be able to put our partner’s house and state under pressure.”
