On June 5, another court session on the case of Artak Nazaryan’s death took place in Ijevan. Before the session began, the activists of The Army in Reality movement waved banners in front of the court demanding fair trial and holding assizes in Yerevan. There were two foreign lawyers, most probably Americans, among the protesters. During the session, the interrogation of witness to this case Artur Mkrtchyan continued. The witness gave testimony quietly, sort of constrained, he didn’t venture to look the defendants, their counselors, the victim’s legal successor in the eye, while speaking. Responding to questions, he said that Artak Nazaryan had been a calm person, sometimes he had liked to be
alone. In A. Mkrtchyan’s words, incidents happened between Artak and the three accused soldiers for fun, sometimes serious incidents also happened, he also expressed an opinion that it couldn’t prompt Artak Nazaryan to commit a suicide.
Alvard Mnatsakanyan, the counselor of accused Harutik Kirakosyan, Adibek Hovhannisyan and Mkhitar Mkhitaryan, asked what the word “humiliate” written in his testimony meant. The witness said confusedly that it meant loneliness. Artur Mkrtchyan said that although the testimony was written by his own hand, but he had added some words instructed by the detective.
